Perimenopause Nutrition
You’ve reached midlife, and suddenly everything feels harder than it used to. Fatigue, body aches, brain fog and weight changes start to show up more regularly — until, before you know it they begin to feel like your new normal.
But despite this, there’s a part of you that’s ready to feel better. To understand what’s happening in your body and to find a way forward that actually supports your health, not fight against it.
Perimenopause (and the transition into menopause) brings real, physiological changes that influence your energy, metabolism, mood and how your body responds to food. And while we’re much better at talking about it, many women are still left feeling unsure about what their body truly needs.
Our role is to guide you through perimenopause with clarity and care — combining the theory with grounded, realistic approaches that is right for you.
What you really need to know about nutrition in midlife
Whether you've had kids or not, the important thing to know is how to realign your nutrition needs after the "reproductive " (aka raising kids) era.Â
As hormone production declines during perimenopause (~ 7 year timeframe), the effects of lowered levels of oestrogen and progesterone manifest in ways that are now more understood.
There are several parts of your body that needs more attention in order to set yourself up for a healthy future, well beyond perimenopause stage of life. This includes focusing on cardiovascular (heart) health, bone health and sharpening your metabolic function to adapt to prevent and protect you from cognitive decline such as dementia.Â
And while weight remains a concern for many women, we focus on the metabolic effects of perimenopause. By guiding you to make targeted changes to your food intake, you will achieve more energy, less inflammation and a confidence that you’ve got this in the bag until your 80 years old.
This isn’t about the six week or three month weight loss goal, this is the change you need for healthy life ahead.
Hope won't make it better.
